Hatteras Yachts of New Bern, North Carolina and MarineMax Yachts & Brokerage presented 4 days of excellent fishing, great food and parties at the Fourth Annual Bahamas White Marlin Open. This light tackle, all-release tournament took place April 16 through 19 at the Treasure Cay Resort & Marina. The Bahamas White Marlin Open is fished with thirty-pound tackle and utilizes 'Release Affidavits' and time and date stamped digital images to validate all billfish releases. Trophies were awarded to the top three teams based upon total points for released billfish. A separate Fun Fish Division recognized the largest dolphin, tuna and wahoo caught during the three days of fishing. Minimum weight for the Fun Fish species was twenty-five pounds.

Spanning April through June, all Championship tournaments are governed by a uniform set of rules controlling minimum lengths for qualifying billfish, line class, fishing hours and entry fees.
